The Pro-test lab is approaching Norwegian citizens for their solidarity to support the campaign in Vilnius by joining the discussion in format of the so-called "TV-bridge" between Norway and Lithuania.

Why Norway?
Norway was one of first countries to recognize Lithuanian independence and facilitate economic development and international exchange. Very soon the ideas of the social welfare state, Scandinavian socialism and democracy became manipulative tools in the rhetoric of real estate tycoons and corrupted bureaucrats. Scandinavian urban models (for instance the Aker Brygge in Oslo) are considered to provide the future examples of urban
development in Lithuania. Taking into account that Lithuania is a case study for other former Soviet republics (Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova and the Caucasus), it becomes interesting to what extent this "Scandinavian model" could be reproduced and what kind of reading should be taken into account.

We kindly invite you to share your insights, experiences and expertise in recent projects and reflect on the politics of urban development and public space.
